Let us walk you through some important information so that you can get the most out of your HUGHP benefits.

Find an in-network Primary Care Physician (PCP) 

HUGHP has a limited PCP network. Make sure your provider is in the HUGHP network based on your plan type. Find an in-network PCP.

Notify HUGHP Member Services of your selection

Please call us at (617) 495-2008 to ensure your future claims are processed. Even if you have an existing PCP and not selecting a new one, it is important that you contact us to let us know the name of your PCP.

Call the PCP’s office to register as a new patient, if necessary.

If you select an HUHS PCP, Member Services will notify the PCP's office of your selection.

Watch for your ID cards

You will receive two separate cards in the mail:

• A HUGHP/Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts health insurance ID card for medical benefits.
• Express Scripts prescription drug ID card for prescription benefits.

Resubmit referrals under your HUGHP insurance

All members with open referrals will need to ask their PCP to resubmit referrals that are filed with a different health plan to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts as soon as possible. Learn more about referrals here.

When filling prescriptions

Be sure to use an Express Script participating pharmacy and to give the pharmacist your Express Scripts prescription ID card when filling prescriptions. Most large pharmacy chains participate in the Express Scripts network.
