New Benefits in 2017

Beginning January 1, 2017, HUGHP members will be covered for up to 20 acupuncture visits per calendar year with a licensed acupuncturist. You do not need a referral from your primary care physician to use your acupuncture benefits.

Members are required to pay-up front for the services since BCBSMA does not have a defined network of acupuncturists. Members can file for reimbursement by submitting an itemized receipt along with the BCBSMA subscriber claim form to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Members will be reimbursed the full amount minus their applicable office visit co-payment for the services. Please allow 45-60 business days to receive reimbursement.
