SUPPORT-to-QUIT Smoking Cessation Program
HUGHP's SUPPORT-to-QUIT Program helps members quit smoking once and for all. Here's how the SUPPORT-to-QUIT program works:
Make an appointment with your HUGHP provider. Your provider may give you a prescription for a smoking cessation medication that you can obtain for the lowest copayment. HUGHP has lowered the copayment for Chantix (one of the most effective prescription drugs for smoking cessation) to only $5 per prescription at HUHS or any pharmacy in the Medco network. Most other prescription drugs ordered to support smoking cessation will also be available for a $5 copayment.
Fill your prescription, then pick up your SUPPORT-to-QUIT Tool Bag at the HUHS Pharmacy. The bag contains a four-week supply of FREE nicotine patches and counseling information. Studies show that long-term smokers trying to quit need support along the way. HUGHP members have access to telephone, online, or face-to-face counseling.
Follow the three program steps.
1. Use your nicotine patch as directed.
2. Take the medication prescribed by your clinician.
3. Take advantage of the counseling services available to you.
