Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) typically develop strong working relationships with particular specialists, enabling them to collaborate more effectively on your behalf -- ensuring appropriate and coordinated treatment, excellent communication, and a higher quality of care. HUGHP PCPs have referral relationships with thousands of specialists -- all of whom are participating BCBS providers.

You must obtain a referral from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) for any specialist visits.

Notify your physician if you have an Emergency Room visit.

All follow-up care after Emergency Room visits must be referred by your PCP.
